Having processes that run efficiently from a practice and team perspective is one thing, but when looking in from the outside can you say that your patient experience is really at the forefront of your workflow?
With customers (and that includes patients!), every interaction, be it click, swipe, call or visit, is an opportunity to build on the growing relationship. In this session we’ll be looking at how other industries and businesses have built a customer-centric strategy, and the key elements that we can pull out and can apply to running a dental practice in order to boost patient satisfaction, gain loyalty, and grow your patient base
Grafting procedures are often seen as a routine part of implant dentistry, however, grafting is not always a suitable option for every implant patient. This session will focus on opting for implant placement in the pterygoid region as an alternative approach for those patients who have minimal bone for the clinician to work with. The session will run in two parts, the first part will cover the theory behind this approach and the second part will offer a taster hands-on training session covering how to place an implant in the pterygoid region.
At the end of this 2 part session delegate should have an increased understanding in:
– The anatomy in the pterygoid region
– The features of an implant suitable for placement in the pterygoid region
– Patient suitability – indications and contra-indications
– Clinical competency needed for placing implants into the pterygoid
“What you can’t measure, you can’t improve”. With the importance of understanding our practice performance in order to grow, Yasmin will be delivering a simple for you to do just that. Providing a hands-on guide on how you can use the ultimate practice performance dashboard, we will be introducing you to the various different reports and analytics that you can access using the Software of Excellence cloud MPC. From financial reports to UDA monitoring and prediction; to how you can use the intuitive dashboard to identify opportunities and risks – this is the perfect workshop to really delve deep into your numbers and give you a plan to follow the second you step back into practice.
In this talk you will learn how the Carriere Motion works and how to place the appliance. You will then learn how to integrate the appliance into the digital aligner workflow. This will then be backed up with examples of easier “ideal situations” and followed up with how to adapt it to more challenging cases.
Discover how the latest advances in digital technology simplify treatment and increase uptake of implants in practice.

How to use Tibases
How to deliver predictable screw retained crowns
An interactive session designed to help dentists refine and enhance communication skills in order to build a foundation of trust that will lead to improved patient education and ownership, better patient care and increased customer satisfaction. We’ll be looking at when and how to ask questions, how to present treatment options in the most effective way; removing any perception of sales pressure, maintain trust and build rapport, and more.
L-PRF is most widely used as a matrix for bone grafting, ridge preservation and to promote soft tissue healing. Through case discussion this session will explore the clinical benefits and science behind L-PRF. There will be a live step by step demonstration.

This presentation will provide you with an overview of where digital implant dentistry is now, and how you can get involved. We will explore the full digital workflow, the limitations and the benefits.
The modern digital workflow allows the practice to step on to the pathway at any point. From sending impressions to be digitised, to milling and scanning in the clinic.
The advantages that this technology brings to collaborative team working and better integration of the technical team will be demonstrated, as well as the how to use the team in the digital workflow.
1 To understand the relevance of the full digital workflow.
2 To understand the limitations and benefits of this new technology.
3 To understand how you can use this technology for better integrated team-working.
Professor Cemal Ucer’s Presentation:
This presentation will discuss the important role of digital dentistry in 3-D patient assessment & planning and how it can be used to improve surgical precision and hence the success of implant treatment.
Innovative new techniques using 3D -CAD and digital additive manufacturing will also be presented to demonstrate the treatment of severely atrophic jaws.

In this interactive workshop Rebecca will be delivering a “patient workflow in practice” session. Using real-life practice scenarios, you will come away with an all-encompassing guide as to how best set-up and track a customer-centric workflow that will also benefit your team and business as a whole.
You’ll be encouraged to think about each individual touchpoint that a patient has with your practice and assess how customer-centric your business really is; and will be provided with tips on how to automate as much of the digital processes as possible in order to spend more time and care on the face-to-face interactions that will leave a lasting impression.
Understanding performance progress is important at any stage in your business journey; as it presents an opportunity to tweak the processes that affect results and make changes before it’s too late. The theory of continuous improvement is not a new concept in business, but for dentists it represents a different way of thinking about how a practice operates.
In this session Ben Flewett will be introducing a proven step-by-step process in identifying the crucial KPIs within your practice, and the importance of using this to set targets and guide the key daily tasks that will achieve tangible business outcomes.
Whether you’re struggling to identify where to start, feeling overwhelmed by the flood of data within your practice or just wanting a more streamlined process for performance analysis then this session is for you.

Digital technology is disrupting the traditional ways we think about and practice dentistry. By starting with the end in mind, we can visualise our end point of treatment easily utilising digital smile design concepts and then once we know this, deliver the dentistry required to achieve it in an efficient, accurate and predictable way.
The uptake of disruptive technologies in dentistry is changing the way we design, plan, communicate and deliver beautiful smiles. Are digital workflows predictable, efficient and accurate enough to produce exceptional aesthetic dentistry?
This presentation will aim to update, maintain and develop your knowledge and skills when undertaking indirect smile rehabilitation procedures utilising the modern techniques, emerging technologies and treatments that we now have at our disposal. (Development outcome C, GDC CPD Regulations)

Whilst it’s impossible to predict the future of all product innovation in dentistry, it’s understandable and inevitable that new products and services including increased digital solutions will be introduced to the sector and that the industry will continue to innovate it’s offering to the profession to ensure that techniques are continuously improved to enable the best patient experience.
In terms of private and NHS dentistry, there will inevitably be change – with a new contract coming through there will be an undeniable shift to private dentistry. This means more competition for existing private dentists, more opportunity for better patient : dentist relationships and likely a negative perception of dentistry in the consumer media as NHS access becomes limited.
All of this we cannot control, but there is one element we can and that is of our communication…and the way we communicate with our patients becomes even more important when we consider the future of dentistry and the evolving relationships with our patient base, as the way they want to communicate changes:
– differing patient bases communication preferences
– social media v human touch
– social recluses
– generation x
Why is the ability to communicate more important now than ever, when we consider the future of dentistry, the need to build even stronger relationships with our patients, when they are not used to building relationships outside of social media.
In this session Dr Barry Oulton will look at how to improve the communication with your patients so that both you and they can benefit from what innovations dentistry is bringing us.
He will delve into the future of communication with patients both virtually and face to face as developing your soft skills alongside your technical skills is essential for a successful future.
